The Team Pro comes with a WET tuned exhaust which is almost impossible to quiet. You would have to order it with a dry tuned( which will make the Team Pro faster) and add a stinger muffler which still does a bad job of making these exhausts quiet. There are a couple of "Quiet Pipes" on the market that work well with minimum HP loss.Maybe if we ask Tony to make a internal stinger he would.

Hi Tom.

How come it is almost impossible to quiet at wet tuned exhaust?

I bought a RTR Team pro from Tony with wet exhaust. Would it be complicated to convert the boat into a dry pipe with a Silencer, to get quiet the boat?

Best regards Max

Max,
It's not impossible and I have already begun pre-production on the internal "tube" dry pipes. Unfortunately I sent a prototype exhaust to a customer of ours back several months ago that took it upon himself to have his own made and sell. It also takes us a little more time to get things on the market because of our sales volume compared to the garage guys. We can easily sell 1000 pieces of a new item is a very short time. That means we have the potential of 1000 returns if it does not function properly, and that is something that I have dodged from day one. I am very skeptical even when designing new products, because not only do they have to perform, they also can not enable another product that may be part of the system to fail.

As far as the wet pipes go, we have been testing a few versions of the internal tube because the pipe has to be able to expel the water and not contain to much at the same time. I need a little time over the winter to make absolute sure. Also our extended silencer does work when you use it with the steel wool that it comes with on the wet system. So don't be concerned about ordering one.

Hi Tony.

Thanks for the answer. I´ve allready got two silencers for my Team pro and my rebuilded Rio.

I was just wardering if it was possible to quiet the engine further

I look forward to hear how the new pipe turn out.

Best regards

You do have the packing in them correct? If so is the level tolerable in Europe?

I haven´t touched the packing in them since I got the mufflers. I have just installed the muffler on the exhaust. Is there anything else I should do?

No, we install a steel wool packing in the silencer and it will last a long time. I know that your levels are lower than ours. I believe we are still 90 Db at 50 feet (18 meters) in most places in the states. I have sold many to Europe and haven't heard otherwise, so I was just concerned.

Great. I haven´t had any complains about the noise. But offcouse I´m always interested in learning something new.

Have a nice evening.

I,too, would like to purchase a Team Pro. I saw one at the local pond and was blown away by the performance. However, it was soooo loud - sounded like a "hot chain saw"!! When you come up with quiet version - the
Team Pro QT - I'll be placing my order.
