Quick question
When I first run my boat it rips but it seem after awhile it gets sluggish or lazy so I run it 1/4 throttle for a little bit then stab it and it rips for a while. I'm wondering is it getting to hot and when I go slow it cools down? Should I fatten the high a little or is something else going on? Thanks in advance for your help

Do you have a way to measure the temperature? How is your cooling system working at speed? Can you see a good stream of water coming out?

As long as water comes out I think it should be good

Make sure water goes in the cooling cap low and exit high, same goes for all water cooled flanges. Reason water will turn into steam and a air block will ocurr. Also depending on the water pickup the pickup may come out of water at speed.

Gordon, I do not have a way to measure temp. When I put the boat in the water I can see water coming out the pipe but high speed I can't tell. I'm gonna run it this weekend and see what's going on . I'm gonna try richening it this weekend and I'll let you guys know.

Yes running lean can cause your engine to run hot and maybe effect performance.

I switched to vp non ethanol 94 octane this year and I'm having to adjust carb. I will richening it and see what happens
