Gas boat noise vs NJ.

We are quickly loosing lakes & ponds to run our gas boats on. The public or trouble makers always winn the noise battle. We have had a lake to run & race on for 20 yrs now. We just found out that we will have to leave next year. We have no place to go. Gas boating in NJ is close to the end now. I hate to have to go electric because of the cost. I will probably leave the hobby at that time. We have db meters to make sure we meet the 95db rule but that means nothing at all if…

I think the Skiff class is great! If any of you guys out there can build a good straight hull I would entertain making it into a production mold / boat. The person who does the patterns (wood version) would be compensated, we could go into details if there is any interest. You would also be credited for the design and effort.
Just drop me an email.
Thanks,
Tony C.

I would think so Tom, Tom at Expresscraft designed the hull and he races many of his boats. It's not a small Cat but it performs very well, especially in rougher water. I would think that in full race format and trim it would see the mid-high 50's, we already hit 55 MPH durring testing.

The deck should help quite a bit ( not shown in the video ), my concept is similar to the SILEX with all rounded surfaces, and no areas to to let the air dictate the boats direction.

I'll give you all the final hint before we unveil it...How many of you remember what I and many pre-teen boys thought was the absolute coolest Hot Wheels car ever made?

It was released in 1968 if I remember correct, and very much resembled a Cat.

Ohhhh boy, don't let them get to you Tom , you are too good a person to play into their games and on their level. I used to say, " It's only model boat racing guys", but to some it's so much more?

Anyway on the lighter side, your band sounds great and your singing is spot on you Bastaad! You have that last range, third octave I used to, and I think that my Metal singing / screaming days got the best of my vocal chords. I had to start tuning to 430 to sing even my own songs????

Anyway you guys sound great and I know your having a great time! How about all those 50 -60 year old groupies? I went to see my old drummer from Dragonfly a few weeks ago, and they were playing in a club in WPB. When they went on all of these women my and your age came in dressed the same as they were in the 80's.......Eeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Tom,

You have been quite during all of this and I wanted to thank you for all you have done to help this site and the people on it, and most important become our / my personal friend. You are an inspiration to me and the sport of RC, and I am sure you will be on the forefront to good things to come. I heard you got the electric bug... I wouldn't be surprised to see records set by Tom D. I don't have to tell you about our heritage and or why I made the decision to retire a few years early, but I think it was the right choice.

Maybe I will get back into a band, I can still sing and play, maybe not as good as you, and maybe with the stress gone I will be inspired to write music again.

Please email me when ever you want, and if and when you get to Florida please look us up.

Sincerely,

Tony

P.S.- Please keep the new guy straight, he's a good Cat, I know you two will hit it off. He listens too...
